Wading Boot Sizing & Care

Choose your boot size based on the boot you wear and what goes inside it.

Your setup Where to start
Coastal Wading Boot with neoprene socks or stockingfoot waders One full size above your usual street shoe size
Coastal Wet Wading Boot worn barefoot Your usual street shoe size
Coastal Wet Wading Boot with neoprene socks Size up to allow room for the neoprene

Coastal Wading Boot

Built to accommodate neoprene socks or stockingfoot waders. We recommend starting one full size above your usual street shoe size.

Neoprene thickness affects the fit. A thinner 3 mm sock takes up less room than a 4.5 mm stockingfoot wader, which may require a larger boot.

For example, if you wear a size 10.5 street shoe, a size 11 boot may work with 3 mm neoprene socks. With 4.5 mm stockingfoot waders, we recommend a size 12.

Coastal Wet Wading Boot

Designed for barefoot wear. Start with your usual street shoe size. If you prefer neoprene socks, size up to make room for them.

Between sizes or unsure?

Both boots are available in whole sizes. If you wear a half size or need help choosing, email info@southerlyfishing.com with your usual shoe size, the boot you're considering, and whether you'll wear it barefoot, with neoprene socks, or with stockingfoot waders. Include the neoprene thickness if you know it.

Try your boots on with the same socks or waders you plan to wear on the water.

Care after every outing

  1. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after each use.
  2. Place upside down on a drying rack to allow drainage and airflow.
  3. Once completely dry, store in a climate-controlled space.
