Capt. Jay Watkins, Sr. is a full-time fishing guide, author and social media creator. Jay makes his home in the coastal town of Rockport, Texas, spending time with his two boys — Jay Ray and Ryan — who are also both accomplished anglers. He is the owner and publisher of jaywatkins.com — a digital hub for all things Texas Gulf Coast fishing offering tutorials, fishing club access, weekly game plans, professional guiding and exclusive fishing content. He is also the author of the Ask The Pro column in Texas Saltwater Magazine.

On the tournament scene Jay's accomplishments run deep. He has won three Trout Master events — he’s the only Texas Pro to win back-to-back victories in a single season. He has also won the prestigious Trout Masters Classic Event, two CCA Mid-Coast Guide Cup Championships, two Saltwater Angler Guide Cups, (back-to-back victories) and two Baffin Bay Big Trout Bash victories (back-to-back). Jay and his son partnered and won the 2004 American Rodsmiths Trout Master and the Port Aransas I.F.A. Redfish Tour Event. Tournament accolades aside, Jay is generous with his time and expertise, working hard to unlock Coastal fishing for other anglers who share his passion.
